  • well, i guess NY it is for us.  wasn’t even close!  And here I was hoping to find out the meaning of “what happens here, stays here”.  Since everyone was so enthusiastic about NY, I’m counting on you guys for some help.  I need  recommendation for places to visit, restaurants to dine at, anything/anywhere you think we should do that would truly make this NY trip NY special.

oh man, i could go on and on…

  • ha ha ha . . . i agree . . . food is key . . . . chinatown and flushing baby!!! :)

  • MOMA, Met, Chinatown, Little Italy, Broadway (have to catch a show), shopping in Soho.

For hotels, I always stayed in the Affinia Dumont (http://www.affinia.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=main.hotel&hotel=5) or the Dylan (http://www.dylanhotel.com/photogallery-2.asp) in case you’re interested in a styled up version of the Dumont. They are expensive without company hookup so talk to me later if you’re interested.

  • I was so dissapointed in little Italy when I went to NY because it is now mostly become a part of China town. Buy a knock off Rolex on the street:)

  • To help burn all the extra calories you will no doubt be ingesting, my favorite NYC places are: United Nations, Met, Moma, Guggenheim Museum, Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock/Ice Skating), Planetarium (at the AMNH = American Museum of Natural History), Central Park, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge (from Brooklyn to Manhattan), Columbus Circle Shops for (window) shopping, Apple Store on Fifth Avenue, Bronx Zoo, a Circle Line Tour (if it’s not terribly cold), and the Statue of Liberty (although it is also very crowded and you can’t go up to the crown anymore since 9/11). I would NOT recommend going to the top of the Empire State Building unless you feel like waiting in line for hours.

  • Ooo Guggenheim is money too – good reminder, Davo.

Posted from Wes’ most recent entry in response to your comment/eprops: “thomas – i want to see some fireworks concerning our boy wes this sunday. make it happen!!”

  • oh yeah!!! we are so excited u will be here. hopefully u’ll get to see a glimpse of ellis. i won’t even tell my kids till the day you guys come or else i’ll never hear the end of it!

  • If you’re going to be visiting a lot of the tourist attractions, I’d recommend getting either the CityPass or NewYorkPass, depending on how many days you’re staying, how many places you want to go, etc.

  • one more comment from me to you on wes’ most recent entry.

  • it’s a picture of my academic bowl team.
4 guys and me. we’re all crazy and it’s fun and my teachers (both women) keep them in line.

  • i dunno if you remember betsey lin, she was at accc for a semester (fall of 05) but she currently lives in NYC i can give you her contact info if you want

  • persistence + drive + $$$ + time searching = 4 controllers

    Have fun in NY!

  • Dude Tian is getting married?!!!!

  • TAG. You’re it. (Read my blog.)

  • what I meant was that they need to adjust for the ones thats under 18 – they cannot include them in the numbers since they are illegal

  • read claudia’s xanga… you told people you were engaged by accident when you were drugged with laughing gas?

  • just read**

  • well no… my dad used to let my sister and I up on the roof with him when we were little. although when i think about it now I have no idea how he was okay with that, and also no idea why my mom let him do it…

they were ok w/ skydiving too, though, which was good. i think they are more concerned about me being mugged-or-worse in the city. which is also a valid concern…

  • lol not really..i moved on to facebook..but also time wasnt a friend lol so gettin to xanga is like the bottom of the list

and happy valentines day…hope u found somethin for kate lol my dad had a hard time for my mom

  • haha thanks…. hopefully i’ll stop by sometime soon!

  • imma back

  • did I say what?

  • well, I don’t mind the A’s, I actually root for them unless they’re playing the Giants….don’t really care for the Braves…though that Brian McCann is a stud.

  • Nowadays it’s btw 11 and 12pm.  But for the last 3 weeks (since I was sick) I was sleeping at 9 or 10…which was GREAT but not enough housework got done. ha!

  • Hey Thomas!  I heard you went to NY last weekend.  Was it truly NY special?  I definitely want to see Letters from Iwo Jima as soon as it comes out on DVD.  Were you disappointed it didn’t win Best Picture?  There are so many good movies I want to rent, but I feel bad watching them at home cause my dad gave up T.V for lent.  =)    Did you watch GATTACA yet?

  • thats alot of bibles! how did you get other peoples bibles?!

  • I’ve actually been practicing Martial Arts since 5 years of age.  It’s been years since I’ve had anyone to really “go-at-it” with.  I love it!  Hopefully, I’ll get back in practice!  Hehe.
