  • NBA season starts tonight and College Basketball is right around the
corner!!!  Hopefully my return to the court will be imminent as I try
    to strengthen my knee.

In the meantime, Abigail has been growing leaps and bounds, literally.
She weighs a cool 17 lbs and is about 9.5 months old.  But her energy,
curiosity, communication skills, and extrovert personality are
developing super fast every day.  She crawls as fast as a cockroach,
loud as a foghorn, bold as the Starship Enterprise, bites as often as a
zombie, and causes as much havoc as a twister.  Raising a kid sure is
hard work but boy is it fun and rewarding!

One of the rare moments when Abigail is chilling

Here’s an incriminating video of what the little godzilla likes to do in her spare time:

  • 2006 has been a year of firsts.  Father, pastor, and now home
owner.  I wonder what’s in store next?  We moved into our
house on Saturday (many thanks to Jeff, Dave, Mike, Charles, and
Josh).  Once the grass (looks like an Amazon rain forest) is mowed
and the house furnished, we’ll have a house warming party.  In the
meantime, any tips or info on house maintenance would be GREATLY
    appreciated.  Topics include:  energy conservation,
    landscaping, or anything else.

  • so here are some pictures of Abigail just several days ago, when she was still on her tummy crawling or sitting in our lap.

here are some pics of her two/three days ago:

This is what she started to do since yesterday (7 months old):

    let the mayhem begin…

August 2, 2006

  • Wow, it’s been over a  month since the last post.  Kate and I enjoyed
our month off by just relaxing, hanging out, playing with
Abigail, and buying a house.  In the last month and half, we’ve
managed to host/entertain friends/family from California, Taiwan, and
Australia.  That’s alot of mileage!  But nothing beats
playing with Abigail and watching her grow day by day.  She’s
about 16 plus pounds and we’ve started her on some solid food. Her
soiled diapers now look like it’s been visited by a bunch of geese with
diarrhea.  Very lovely stuff.  Here’s a good batch of
    pictures (not related to diapers).

  • I love being a daddy, Kate loves being a mommy, and Abigail just loves
being a baby!  When she laughs, it sounds like the most
innocent/pure/perfect expression of joy.  We can’t help but laugh
with her when she does that.  Imagine how God must feel when we
genuinely express our joy/gratitude/trust/satisfaction in Him.

last 3 pics come courtesy of Josh’s super/make-you-jealous/amazing
camera.  1st pic is Abigail meeting her granddad for the first
    time.

  • So Abigail is now officially a PK and Kate a pastor’s wife.
Saturday’s ordination service was just as meaningful as my wedding
ceremony two years ago.   Although no where nearly as emotional, I
was still very touched and glad to be able to share it with Kate,
Abigail, my dad, many dear friends, brothers/sisters, and respected
elders.  I’m humbled by the calling and responsibility that comes
along with being ordained.  But I look forward to serving at ACCC
with new excitement and hope.  Now all that’s left this year is
for Abigail to call me “Pa Pa” and stop grabbing/banging my
laptop!  These pics come courtesy of Josh “Chien” Fu.  Mr.
    Money!

And of course, the pastor’s wife and the PK!

May 20, 2006

  • May is Kate’s month.  So far we’ve celebrated our wedding
anniversary and Mother’s Day.  Pretty soon her birthday will be
coming up as well.  The big three-O.  I guess it’s officially
downhill from now on.  Good thing she still looks 16-22.

Abigail was able to flip herself over for the first time this
Tuesday!  She lies on her back and then quickly rolls to her right
to lie on her tummy.  Then she struggles a little to free her
right arm.  A very exciting moment!  But when will she say
“pa pa”?????  That’s the big thing I care about.

May 4, 2006

  • So this Monday was my wedding anniversary with Kate.  I can’t
believe 2 years have gone by so quickly.  2 years ago we went to
Orlando for Disney World and Universal Studios.  Last year we went
to Charleston, SC.  This year I decided to take Kate and Abigail
to Sarloos Indian Cuisine in Alpharetta.  The food there isn’t too
bad although I wish there were more varieties.  I think they only
had 10 entrees for us to eat and all of them had either rice, lentil,
beans, curry, or chicken in it.  Of course if you remember my old
entry about foods to avoid if you don’t want to pass gas, you’ll
recognize that lentil, beans, and spice are all included.  So
picture Abigail rest of the day raising her hips and working hard to
    pass gas.  Very lovely.

I think Abigail has hit the separation-anxiety phase.  She’s
about 4 months old and we can tell she clearly recognizes Kate and I as
her parents.  So much so that she doesn’t like to be held by other
people unless you’re lucky to be around when she’s in a super good mood
(which usually means right after she wakes up).  So don’t be
worried or offended if you try to hold her these next few months and
she struggles and fusses.  After all, she’s already a daddy’s
    girl.

Here’s a couple of pictures from Chi Alpha’s Iron Chef Night, which was by far the best Iron Chef Competition I’ve ever
been a part of.  Kudos to all the college participants.  That
    was some amazing stuff!

April 18, 2006

  • So it’s been weeks since i’ve updated Abigail’s status.  She
continues to grow everyday and has recently developed a new habit of
spitting for fun.  No projectiles are actually launched but she
loves having her drool dribble/spat out of her mouth and leave it
hanging on her lips.  Very nasty but somewhat amusing
behavior.  For us, as long as she can entertain herself, it’s
good.  Makes me wonder what other habits she’s going to pick
up.  She already burps as loud as Kate and passes gas more often
than the two of us combined!  She sits with one leg propped up and
loves listening to music (classical preferrably).  Yes, princess
Abigail Wang sure has a nice life going for her with two responsive
slaves ready to fulfill her wish at her command.  Her highness
better marry a rich guy one day!

We’ve taken over 330 pictures of her highness so far since birth.
    That’s about 3 pictures a day.  I wonder what’s the average for
other parents.  Here’s some new pictures:
